Just a two hour drive from Toronto and you're there. Just follow these directions to our Escape To Serenity Cottage!
- Hwy 401 east to Hwy 115 north (just past Bowmanville)
- Hwy 115 north to Hwy 7 east (Peterborough is just to the west of this intersection)
- Hwy 7 east to Hwy 134/28 north (there's a stop light and a Coffee Time on the NE corner here)
- follow this north past Lakefield and Young's Point to Burleigh Falls
- Continue following Hwy 28 north from Burleigh Falls - go 4.2 km to the Big Cedar Store
- Right across from the store, turn right going south onto Dunfords Rd
- Follow Dunfords Rd 1.1 km past Fire Route 4 on the left and watch for Fraser Estates Lane on the right
- Turn right onto Fraser Estates Lane and take your first left onto Cook's Lane
- You've arrived at Serenity Cottage!!
Best shopping... for groceries there's an IGA in Lakefield that is open daily from 8 am to 8 pm. There's also a Home Hardware, a Sun Shrine spa for massages, manicures, etc, a Tim Hortons, a fantastic butcher shop (Flanigans), an M & M Meat store and a video rental store
To get into Lakefield - at the intersection of Highway 134 and 28 as you're coming from Toronto, turn left instead of right towards Young's Point/Burleigh Falls/the cottage. The town is just three minutes away and the main street has everything. Very picturesque by the way - you might want to take a walk along the river sometime :)
